Cobh Walking Tours — tours.incobh.com

Last updated: September 2026

This app is currently in a private testing phase and hasn't launched publicly. This policy reflects what the app actually does today, and will be reviewed again before any public or paid launch.

Who runs this

This tour is a product of inCobh, based in Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland. If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us through incobh.com.

Location data

This app uses your device's GPS location to detect when you're near a stop on the tour and to show your position on the map. This happens entirely on your own device — your location is never sent to or stored on our servers. It's used only to compare your position against the tour's stop locations, moment to moment, while the app is open.

You can deny or revoke location permission at any time through your browser or device settings. The tour's map and content will still work without it — you just won't get automatic "you've arrived" notifications and will need to navigate to each stop yourself.

What we store on your device

The app saves a small amount of information locally on your device (using your browser's local storage), so that it still works if you lose signal partway through the tour and so your progress isn't lost if you close the app and come back later. This includes:

None of this is sent to our servers or shared with anyone. It stays on your device until you clear your browser's site data or uninstall the app.

What we don't collect

We don't currently use any analytics or tracking services on this site. We don't collect your name, email, or any account information, because there's no account or sign-in — anyone with the link can use the app.

A technical note on our server

When the app loads its map, a small request is made to our server to fetch a map access token. For basic security (to prevent abuse of that request), our server briefly uses a standard session cookie and notes your IP address at that moment. This information isn't used for tracking and isn't linked to anything else about you.

Third-party services

This app relies on a small number of outside services to work:

We don't control these third parties' own data practices — see their respective privacy policies for details.

Children's privacy

This app isn't specifically directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from them, beyond the same device-local, non-identifying data described above that applies to any visitor.

Your rights

Since we don't hold personal data about you on our servers, there's little to request access to or deletion of beyond what's already on your own device — which you control directly. If you have any concerns, contact us via incobh.com.

Changes to this policy

As this app moves from private testing toward a public launch — including payment processing and possibly voice/video content download — this policy will be updated to reflect that, and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
